HGF Management Company (HGF) manages loans from acquisition to disposition with an emphasis on the recovery of non-performing loans. In 2019 the HGF team began managing loan portfolios for outside investors and currently manages $35 million of loans with a concentration in California and Florida.
Dennis Lanni
Managing Principle
Dennis began his career in 1998 as a Stock Options Market Maker on the Pacific Stock Exchange for TD Bank. In 2002, he co-founded a real estate investment company focused on distressed properties and non-performing loans, which has since evolved into HGF Management Company. As a principal of HGF, Dennis oversees operations and leads the recovery team, specializing in loan workouts, restructurings, and asset resolution strategies. He brings more than two decades of experience in real estate investing, loan servicing, and distressed asset management. Dennis is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and resides in California with his family.
Clark Whitten
REO Asset Manager
Clark brings more than 30 years of experience in real estate acquisition, asset management, and redevelopment. As REO Assistant Manager at HGF Management Company, he oversees the management and disposition of residential assets, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and value optimization. Throughout his career, Clark has managed large-scale housing initiatives for Sacramento County and has worked with organizations such as Bechtel and Kosmont on acquisitions, entitlement and permitting efforts, and construction management. His extensive experience across all phases of the real estate lifecycle provides HGF with a strategic perspective on asset recovery and portfolio management.. Clark's broad industry knowledge and hands-on approach make him an invaluable member of the HGF team.
Shannon Winford
COO
Shannon oversees loan servicing and foreclosure operations at HGF Management Company. She brings more than 15 years of experience in loan servicing, bankruptcy, foreclosure law, and forensic loan underwriting. With extensive expertise in both judicial and non-judicial foreclosure processes, Shannon has a proven track record of navigating complex regulatory environments and interpreting state-specific foreclosure laws. Her broad industry knowledge and attention to detail play a key role in supporting HGF's servicing and asset recovery operations. Shannon is a graduate of the University of California, Davis and resides in California with her family.

Arturo brings 15 years of experience in real estate asset management, with a strong focus on developing practical, common-sense solutions that help homeowners preserve homeownership and navigate complex financial situations. Throughout his career, Arturo has worked across loan originations, real estate owned (REO), real estate sales, loan servicing, and asset management with some of the largest financial institutions in the country. This broad, well-rounded experience allows him to approach challenges from multiple perspectives and deliver thoughtful, effective outcomes.
